Geriatric Initiatives, Inc. is a non-profit agency formed by Dr. Scharmaine Lawson-Baker, a nurse practitioner living in New Orleans, Louisiana.  It was formed to raise awareness to the plight of the homebound elderly and disabled of New Orleans who are still struggling to recover from Hurricane KATRINA.  The board consists of social workers, community leaders, and registered nurses actively involved in caring for this vulnerable population.
